The new synthetic training field at UCLA's Jackie Robinson Stadium is nearing completion. The baseball specific synthetic turf infield will provide an all weather, year round training surface for the team, and serve as an amazing game day space for activities of all shapes and sizes. The project includes new sports lighting and a modernization of the adjacent pitching bullpen, along with some enhanced landscape areas near the main entrance of the Stadium. The new playing surface will include an organic infill topping mixed among the turf fiber blades, supplanting the more commonly found rubber granules. This will also deliver a more grass like ball reaction and reduced temperatures, all while duplicating existing game conditions. Many thanks to UCLA Baseball Head Coach John Savage, and the entire UCLA Community for the opportunity to be part of this collaborative project team. Lloyd appreciates the opportunity to further improve and enhance the historic Jackie Robinson Stadium. Comments are closed.
