Batter up! It’s finally here - Happy MLB Opening Day! ⚾🎉
The 2024 season kicks off today with all 30 teams scheduled to play! 🙌 Wishing all the best of luck and fun as you cheer on your team throughout the season! Throwback to when Lloyd worked on Coors Field, which hosted the 2021 All-Star Game, home to the Colorado Rockies! As spring training concludes and the MLB season looms, we at Lloyd wanted to highlight Salt River Fields at Talking Stick; Scottsdale, AZ, a premier spring training facility jointly utilized by the Arizona Diamondbacks and Colorado Rockies. Covering 140 acres of SRPMIC land, the facility boasts an 11,000-seat open-air stadium complete with essential amenities such as vending areas, restrooms, private suites, and spacious concourses. The facility includes 13 baseball fields, tailored for professional competition with premium turf, rootzone, and drainage systems. 🌱 Each team benefits from dedicated training grounds, featuring state-of-the-art clubhouse buildings, practice areas, and secure parking. Lloyd's contributions extend to comprehensive civil engineering services, including grading, drainage, infrastructure, and roadway design. Salt River Fields proudly stands as the first LEED Gold-certified sports venue of its kind in the United States, a testament to Lloyd's commitment to sustainable design. Salt River Fields was also recognized as one of the 2024 USA Today 10 Best Reader’s Choice Travel Awards Spring Training Facilities. It's been fun watching the teams battle it out this spring training, and we wish them good luck in the upcoming MLB season! 🌟👏 Some of our local AZ team members were happy to attend the 84th Annual Chandler Rotary Invitational Track & Field Meet, hosted at Chandler High School, this past weekend! 🌤️🏃
📢 Lloyd is proud to share our involvement in this years’ SGL Masterclass three-day educational event. 🌱💡Hosted in Edinburgh and Glasgow, Scotland, Lloyd principal, Bob Milano, Jr., is an honored guest speaker! Stay tuned for more posts about the event and Bob’s time traveling around Scotland! ✈️
Since the Bay Area has been recently experiencing some extreme weather conditions, we decided to stop by University of California, Berkeley’s Throws Facility to see how it was performing. This project was completed this past Summer. We observed plenty of leaf debrief from the nearby Eucalyptus trees, but overall, the site is green with new growth from hydroseeding! To top it off, we were pleased to see how water was draining towards the proper locations! |
