![]() Lloyd Sports + Engineering is excited to announce the newest member of our team, Sam Wise. Sam, a licensed civil engineer, brings 5+ years of engineering and design experience in land development from the Northern Nevada area. Sam's experience includes working for an ENR Top 500 rated design firm as lead project engineer on a wide range of residential, municipal and commercial projects. Large scale industrial and master planned single-family subdivisions add to Sam's depth of knowledge. He will bring a wide array of design expertise in water resources and site development with AutoCAD Civil 3D to the Lloyd team. Notable projects include the 750,000 square-foot addition to the existing Starbucks Roasting Facility. This complex project had a variety of challenges including a FEMA LOMR, maintaining operations of the existing facilities and deliveries and earthwork totaling over 400,000 cubic-yards, all on a 100-acre site in Carson Valley, Nevada. In addition, Sam was the lead Project Engineer for the 500,000 square-foot Polaris Distribution Facility. This project, located in Fernley, Nevada, presented unique challenges from poor sandy-soils affecting site grading and design, to various agency coordination and owner driven changes to the site mid-construction. The entire Lloyd team is thrilled to have Sam's unique skills and civil background adding to the team's overall strength and engineering depth in the Northern Nevada region. Sam has been local to the Reno/Tahoe area for the last 9 years and when he is not working he spends his time exploring the Sierra Nevada mountains through camping, hiking, snowboarding in the Tahoe basin and bouldering at the local climbing gyms.
