Our Phoenix crew has been putting in the hard yards this summer, diligently overseeing the CA process at the CUSD synthetic turf field conversion projects 🏟️.
With two fields already completed and three now in the exciting turf installation phase, there’s a real sense of anticipation building before the start of the football season. The new fields are a culmination of teamwork, precision, and a commitment to quality. 🛠️💪 Well done to all involved, keep up the great work as we head into the final quarter! Lloyd enjoyed working alongside DIG Studios and Valley Rain Construction as the sports engineer. Park visitors will now be able to enjoy 10 new natural grass, multi-use fields! 🏃♀️🌱
Before the design came together for the fields, Lloyd provided an initial site assessment report outlining the existing field conditions and upgrade costs. ⛰️☀️ Our team is excited for the City of Mesa and its developments! 📸 Photos curtesy of Valley Rain Construction. The University of Alabama’s Mal Moore Athletic Facility, Field 1 Reconstruction is Complete!7/12/2024
After finishing the renovation at Bryant Denny Stadium, Lloyd was asked by the University of Alabama to continue working on campus by modernizing the practice fields at Mal Moore Athletic Facility. The existing field profile was outdated and posed significant drainage challenges for the University to support the demands of an SEC college football program. After analyzing the existing field, Lloyd planned and designed a new football practice field to accommodate the expanding college football season with a "SubAir Ready" design. 🏈
Precision Turf began the construction in January and completed the field reconstruction in May as part of a potential multi-phase project set to continue over the next few years on the campus in Tuscaloosa. Some key features of the playing field include a new USGA sand rootzone, gravel layer, and hybrid Bermuda sod, Northbridge. Additionally, a new irrigation system was installed equipped with a valve manifold on the field sideline. Check out the finished product! 🤩 Lloyd team members, Bob Milano, Jr. and Lia Delucchi, had the pleasure of attending Junipero Serra High School’s groundbreaking event for the start of their baseball field modernization construction for Danny Frisella Memorial Stadium! 🚧👷♀️
While working alongside Junipero Serra High School, The Archdiocese of San Francisco, the City of San Mateo, ZFA Structural Engineers, Colony Landscapes and Maintenance, Inc., and AstroTurf, our team was honored to design field and facility upgrades to add to the school’s excellent athletics department. 🌱Converting from natural grass and clay fines to a synthetic turf system will improve stormwater runoff drainage, simplify field irrigation, and create a year-round quality playing surface for all players. Other facility modernization items include protective netting backstop and outfield netting systems, improved bullpen training areas and increased field equipment storage! ⚾ The Lloyd team is excited to be involved in the construction process throughout these upcoming summer months! Check out the construction progress being made at Moorpark College’s new beach volleyball courts! 🏐⛱️ Originally tennis courts, Lloyd was challenged to transform this facility within its existing perimeter limits. Along with the brand new recreational and championship sand courts, spectator seating, access improvements and broadcast sports lighting were also included in the project scope! 💡
Lloyd colleague, Sam Wise, got some great shots of the subgrade being prepped and the subdrain installation. Stay tuned to see the finished facility this summer! ☀️ |
