With staff spanning five states and two countries, the Lloyd team still finds ample time to connect with colleagues through projects, but also as an entire firm during various company retreats. This past weekend the Lloyd team came together in Scottsdale, Arizona, to commemorate another year of success and collaboration. Leading up to the retreat, several staff members found time to break away from their computer desks to meet in the field at various sites across the country. From Los Angeles to Tennessee, and in both rain or shine, our team makes every effort to be in the field to make sure our projects are running smoothly.

Outside of the office scene of working on various sports and civil projects, you can find Jake hitting the trails throughout Arizona. He enjoys mountain biking and running, and on the weekends you can find him on a 12-hour solo mountain bike race if there is one! But we wanted to highlight Jake with his recent accomplishment with his friends on completing the Black Canyon Ultras Marathon. This event is a 62 mile (100K) distance trail run, which Jake completed in 16 hours and 22 minutes, out of the 20 hour allotted time given to all racers. He finished 514 out of 704 racers that actually completed the course! Congratulations Jake! #lloyd #lloydsports #lloydsportsandengineering #lloydengineers #jakeireland #teammemberhighlight #civildesigner #sportsdesigner A Site Visit Leads to Surprising Talent by Window Rock High School Students; Window Rock, AZ1/30/2023
A site visit last month by team member Jane Theobald to the Window Rock High School in northern Arizona, lead to a surprising find of talent displayed in the halls of the high school.
Lloyd is currently on the design team with SPS+ Architects to design a new football stadium for the school. The design team has been asked to brainstorm ideas for student contributions to the project from the Construction and Welding elective classes. While project sites are typically the responsibility of the hired contractor, and in this case, Core Construction, students will have an opportunity to engage and contribute their talent to help create this unique facility. As seen here, the amazing work from the welding students show an exemplary level of creativity and skillset! #Lloyd #LloydSports #LloydSportsandEngineering #SPSPlusArchitects #LloydEngineering #NFHS #HighSchools #ArizonaHighSchools #RuralSchools #WindowRock #WRHS #WindowRockHighSchool #Vocational #HighSchool #NorthernArizona #StudentTalent #Welding #Electives #Construction #Scouts Lloyd Sports + Engineering will be attending the Arizona School Board Association's annual conference this year at JW Marriott Phoenix Desert Ridge. This annual conference is ASBA's celebratory end-of-year event for school board members and other district leaders in Arizona. Please stop by the exhibit hall and visit the Lloyd team at Booth #34!
#lloydconsultinggroup #lloydsportsandengineering #lloydengineering Lloyd Sports + Engineering once again proudly sponsored a hole at the Tempe Union High School Foundation's Annual Golf Tournament that was held at the Arizona Grand Golf Course in Phoenix, AZ this past Thursday. This is Lloyd's third year supporting the golf tournament which helps raise funds to support various school and teacher projects across the district. The Lloyd team delivered a fun experience as foursomes approached hole 5, playing a ball toss game to win prizes. Participants had to either throw a football, toss a soccer ball, or chip a golf ball into one of three buckets, with the opportunity to win individual gift cards, swag, or a mulligan for their team. Our team later joined the players and the TUHSD Foundation at the awards lunch, and celebrated the successful event, sponsors, and tournament/raffle winners. Congrats to the various TUHSD staff and ADs who took a handful of awards home that day! |
