We are so proud to share in the completion of the new Glendale Heroes Park Phase 2 in partnership with the City of Glendale AZ, Willmeng Construction, Inc., and Dig Studio, Inc.! 🥳 This was an incredibly ambitious project, and thanks to our collaborative efforts, we were able to help deliver a beautiful new community space in record time.
✅ Fast-Tracked Timeline: The project broke ground in April 2024 and opened the entire park just 12 months later in May 2025. This was made possible by direct coordination with the City of Glendale to streamline the permitting process. ✅ Comprehensive Design: Working with DIG, we designed a full-size synthetic turf soccer field, two full-size natural grass soccer fields, and a balanced grading plan for the entire 40-acre site. ✅ Maximizing Value: We were able to maximize value by minimizing underground storm piping, which was incorporated with DIG's design for winding arroyos to manage stormwater throughout the site. ✅ Extensive Improvements: Our work included designing improvements for the new pickleball and tennis courts, dog park areas, restroom buildings, meandering paths, and parking lot improvements. We also designed the underground utility infrastructure, including water, sewer, storm, and irrigation to support this massive expansion. This project was a true testament to what can be achieved through teamwork and a shared vision. We're thrilled to see the community enjoying this new park! ⚽️🎾🐾☀️ 📸: Willmeng #Lloyd #LloydSports #LloydSportsandEngineering #LloydEngineering #sportsdesign #sportsengineering #landscapearchitecture #civilengineering Huge congratulations to Jordan on completing his first year with us at Lloyd Sports + Engineering this month!
In a relatively short time, Jordan has become an incredibly effective, engaged, and valuable member of our team. His unique insights and dedication to driving designs from concept to construction have made a significant impact. Jordan has been key to the successful delivery of the University of Nebraska natural turf practice field renovations. This project involved challenging demolition and existing conditions, while seamlessly coordinating complex elements like video capture, audio-visual systems, and fencing. Well done, Jordan! We're excited for many more years and great projects together. 📷: BrightView Landscapes Take a look at the exciting progress at the Centennial Park Sports Complex tennis courts in Carson City, Nevada! 📍 Lloyd was proud to support and provide design services to Carson City Parks, Recreation and Open Space in revitalizing eight existing asphalt courts with brand-new post-tensioned concrete systems. 🏗️🌲 The project also includes the addition of an accessible ramp with a block retaining wall🧱 and slope stabilization around the court perimeter ⛰️—ensuring both functionality and long-term durability. Lloyd cannot wait for the community to enjoy their upgraded courts! 🙌 Brett Long and Anthony Stevenson are attending the 2025 CCCADA Convention in South Lake Tahoe this week! 🏔️ We're excited to connect with familiar faces and meet new industry colleagues!
Lloyd has always been proud to support the Community College sector, and it's inspiring to see the continuous growth and improvement in California's sporting and athletic facilities, thanks to the incredible work of the CCCADA. Come by and say hello at our Lloyd booth! Here's to a great convention! 👏 |
