As the natural grass is growing in on the field tray outside the stadium, crews began installing UNLV’s synthetic turf field at Allegiant Stadium. The Rebels will play their home games at Allegiant Stadium on a synthetic turf field separate from the Raiders game day natural grass. The new home for the Las Vegas Raiders is now only days away from the new fully retractable playing field turning green. The new world-class playing field, years in the making with a great project team led by Mortensen McCarthy JV, HNTB Architecture, and Lloyd Sports + Engineering, among many others, will shortly reach a key milestone uniting all of field tray elements with the new playing field sod. While COVID-19 has kept sports events sidelined for the moment, if we all do our part, there will be a time sports can return including the grand opening of Allegiant Stadium, the new home for the Las Vegas Raiders and the UNLV Rebels.
