FOOTBALL/TRACK FACILITY

The LLOYD Team provided design services for the conversion of a temporary parking lot to an athletic facility. The team faced many limitations in the layout and design of the new facility, as the site is located in a natural bowl with existing concrete bleachers. Through the use of small retaining walls and grading, the project team optimized the site for the athletic facility.

Due to limited space, meet management was a concern and was therefore addressed during the design. Separate areas for shotput and long jumps were designed to maximize meet management efficiency; and an adjacent field housed the javelin, as well as, discus and hammer events.

A large stairway structure, which included an accessible ramp were designed to provide access to the new parking structure and connection to a large plaza at the top of the staircase.
